Cancer Prevention

There are a lot of contradictory information about diet and cancer. Therefore, it is important for us to understand a bit of research done before deciding to accept or reject any statements.

Many previous theories on the relationship of diet to cancer are tested in laboratory and animal. The study provides good information, but the chemical reactions that occur in humans is different. Moreover, it is not safe to assume that what is found in animal experiments will apply the same in humans.
Thus, the best information is information that is derived from human studies.
To form the cancer cells, damaged cells must replicate. Some substances in our food can support the replication process and speed up or slow cancer growth and protects us darai attack cancer.

General cancer patients are often advised physicians to avoid or limit each element of the cause of cancer, for example, from cancer-causing foods, alcohol, unhealthy lifestyle, and this applies to all types of existing cancer. Most cancers that plague humans originated from a source of food consumed to contain high levels of vitamins and content source-abortion disproportionately.

To prevent the outbreak of disease and cancer while avoiding's good for discipline in eating a variety of foods. There are many foods that contain protective substances that can reduce tissue damage caused by free radicals or the potential to reduce cell growth.

1. Antioxidants

Antioxidants are important elements in food and is involved in the maintenance and repair of DNA and cells. Antioxidants can reduce the production of free radicals, preventing the early damage to the cells, and reduces the chances of cells into cancer cells. antioxidants in foods can include vitamins or minerals such as vitamin C and E, beta carotene and selenium. Antioxidants can also be found in the flavonoids in vegetables.

2. Phytoestrogens

Fitoestogen almost similar to estrogen, but weaker than the estrogen produced by the body. Phytoestrogens can be divided into two groups, namely isoflavones and lignans. Isoflavones related protein in food, while lignans with fiber.

3. The other bioactive compounds

Many foods have a function beyond vitamins and minerals it contains. Research shows that some of the chemical compounds and reactions are good for health. In experiments in the laboratory, for example, garlic extract capable of killing Heliobacter pylori, a bacterium that can grow in the stomach and known to meninigkatkan risk of cancer. Sulfur-containing compounds contained in garlic and onions are also able to reduce the formation of carcinogenic compounds arising from curing meat.

4. Foods rich in carbohydrates and protein

Foods rich in carbohydrates include Cereal, such as wheat, rye, oats, barley, and rice and some vegetables, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, and taro. These types of foods should be your staple food.

The food was berkarbohdirat and vegetable protein, contains many nutrients that can prevent cancer:

- Fiber
- Vitamin (especially vitamin B)
- Carotenoids (found in sweet potatoes and taro)
- Folate (found in nuts)
- Vitamin E (found in cereal grains
- Vitamin C (found in potatoes and plong-leguminous)
